I've been absent in blogland for a while, but hope to return soon with more frequency. It's the autumnal equinox today and even though the weather feels balmy and hot, I still am excited about the turning of things, the raging goldenrod and the leaves falling into puddles. We've been apple picking and visited the last of the summer festivals, and pumpkin is just around the corner! Ah, pumpkin soup, pumpkin beer, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin muffins...

By the sea...
...well, actually the ohio river, but it's as close to the sea as we southern/midwesterners can get. Here are a few shots from a lovely grey Monday...Wilson wanted to dress up as a "real fisherman" to board the replica Nina and Pinta ships. Even Jane was longingly reaching for the grey waters. Cannot wait for our October trip to the sea (and of course to see my baby brother and his lovely bride tie the knot!)

I love this excursion and the photos. Wilson is a bright spot in the mist. I really love these photos.
