Early Morning Messages

Well, we were up at 5am this morning, ready to go. One of us at least. So we decided to take a photo with our Mac Photo Booth and send it off.

Wilson's Overnight to Madison

We spent a wonderful two days in Madison with grandparents Jinny and Larry.

Wil rested with Grandpa Hunt by the fire.

Had a conversation with Grammy.

Signed his name in the guest book (okay, his grandpa really traced his hand in lieu of a signature).

And came home to greet Daddy with a snuggle.

Clifton Mamas

Wilson, Lola and Thurston had a lovely afternoon while their moms ate yummy cheese souffle.

Sin Panales

(Spanish for no diapers). Notice how gleeful the little one is in the buff.

Clifton Playmates

Meet Thurston Morris who was born on Christmas Day and is one of Wil's first friends. (He also lives up to his rocker namesake, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore). He and his mom Jessica and dog Scooby accompanied us for a walk on an unseasonably warm January day.

A visit from Uncle James

Today, Wilson learned to fly with his Uncle James.

Later, Wil blew off some steam in the gym.

Wilson Smiles

Our little one is often very pensive (we think) and only occasionally showers us with smiles. Lately, though, helped by the attention of his Grammy (Jinny) and his "Grantie" (adopted great-aunt Piccadilly), he has really opened up.

Namesake

Wilson is named for his great-grandparents, my Dad's father, Wilson Hunt, and John's mother's father, Curtis DuBois. Legend has it that Wilson Hunt, the youngest of eight children, was named by his siblings for president Wilson. We don't know the story behind Curtis's name, just that he was a tall, lean man who liked to sing, ran a filling station and loved Cadillacs. Since Wilson Curtis was long and lean when he was born, we hope he will grow up to fill those shoes. Below is a photo of Great-grandpa Wilson and his namesake at Christmas.

Wilson's First Snow

Although not technically his first snow (it snowed when we were in the hospital), it was the first snow he could see, taste and feel. Wilson's still a big fan of black and white, and loves looking at the outline of trees against the sky, so he was very captivated.

The First Post

John here. Even though I don't think we need to introduce ourselves because the people who will be looking at this, will most likely be those who know us, for the sake of this being a beginning, I feel a need to show the players involved. So here I am, and that's Sadie with her head in my lap.

Next is my lovely wife Gretchen. Again, she is with Sadie.
Both of the pictures of us are pre-Wilson, that's why we look rested.

Finally, and most importantly, here is Wilson.
