Jane: Take Seven
How did seven months go by so fast? My beautiful Jane-girl, so happy, radiant, with a hearty belly laugh and those knowing eyes that shine so much! You can already roll, are almost ready to crawl, love peas and green beans, lights, looking at the outlines of trees, your brother's antics, and the slight scratchy feel of your daddy's chin. We are so glad you chose to join us on this earth!

What we do on a frigid January day
Not much to do when the car won't start and the temperature is in single digits but play inside and invent new games, like take photos of the three of us making silly faces. And school, yes, it was the first time Wilson asked to play school. And dress up-- not the kangaroo costume (the routine for the past few days), but cowboy. Wilson acts out long plots, using his rocking horse, "Thorsey," who had a baby, nursed it, nursed a pig and a kangaroo, went to the beach and was then chased by a dinosaur trying to eat it. Ah, imagination. Makes the 3 year old ahem, tantrums, a bit more bearable.

It was this BRIGHT
I love January--somehow the all is calm, all is bright comes for me after the holidays, when all is cleared out and laid bare. A few weeks ago we sat out on our front porch in unseasonably warm weather. Both kids fell asleep and I soaked up the sun on my face. With a baby on my lap, a camera in hand and gorgeous cerulean sky, all was well.
