Blueberry Picking!

Inspired by Blueberries for Sal, we went picking with our storytime friends to Blueberry Hill in Henry County (Wendell Berry land). Wilson's pail, as you can see, remained empty while mine was full. They really should weigh the kids on the way out! You may also be able to tell that I love, love, love Wilson's new hat, part hipster and part Amish kid.

Jane's 1st Birthday!

Jane tried cake not once but twice for her first birthday. We first had a party at my parents' on the 16th, then a gathering outside on the following Saturday. The weather cooperated!

Happy Birthday Jane Bug! (June 16th!)

You are almost one! It seems as if we were just sitting on the front porch with you in our arms, and now you are bursting to get moving! Everything about you is joy and contentment, and your eyes and smile brighten everyone you meet. You are our little Buddha baby, banana pants, Jane bug -- we LOVE you!!!

Jane Updates

Jane has been delighting us with all of her new exploits--walking a few steps, crawling/cruising everywhere, protesting if Wilson ever tries to stop her or touch the toy she's holding, and "talking" and responding to more and more words. She's signing up and more, usually in reference to food. The girl is an EATER. She has yet to meet a food she doesn't like. Her temperament is really balanced and she still reminds me of a little Buddha, content and peaceful. There is still a fiery little part emerging, so we are eager, well somewhat eager, to see what her personality will be.

Lost in the wonder of spring!

We're back! It's been a busy spring so far, with our bathroom being re-done, a few weeks at Grammy's and then back again to our house. There are approximately 350 photos waiting to be sorted into posts. Wow. Hope to get to them soon, in between working our community garden, hiking, crafting, and keeping up with Jane, who by the way took her first step last Sunday.

Our Soccer Star

John took Wilson to his first soccer practice. When I got home from errands, John nearly teared up describing how proud he was of him. As Wilson put it, I was scared that there would be lots of kids, but I had fun. Oh, our little one, how you are reaching out and stretching and spinning your web way out beyond us!

Maple Syrup Festival

A lovely festival in Southern Indiana where we gorged on unlimited pancakes, hung with the Amish, and checked out cool old fashioned games.

Friendship at Three

It is so fun to see Wilson ask for playmates every day and create a world apart from us with his friends. I love to be a fly on the wall to listen in on the conversations and imaginings. To see these kids grow up together is such a joy.
